Namibia & South Africa Best Buys

Ron Spomer - South African Bushbuck

The best bargains in hunting, aside from do-it-yourself public land hunting in the States, can be found in Namibia and South Africa. These two friendly, dry, safe southern African nations understand wildlife conservation and how to fund it through hunting tourism. Thousands of ranchers have reduced livestock numbers and reintroduced native game because it's easier to raise, easier on the environment and often more profitable than beef and sheep. Result: endangered species like bontebok and mountain zebra, just to name two, are again common. Even white rhino and lion are being reintroduced. Competition for hunter's dollars on these many ranches keeps costs low, as low as $6,000 to hunt 10 animals in a week. Add about $2,500 in airfare and you're looking at 10 big game animals in a flurry of exotic hunting action that averages less than $900 per animal. Try booking an elk or even pronghorn hunt for that rate! Travel to SA and Namibia are easy with direct flights from the East coast. The countries are safe and largely disease free (no shots!) Little or no malaria, no yellow fever. African hunting is an American hunting tradition with adventurers exploring this spectacular continent for more than 100 years. It's more settled now, but the wildlife remains spectacular. Investigate SA and Namibian hunting ranches and support wildlife conservation for less. # # #
