416 Rigby Gun Test Fail

A 416 Rigby Gun Test years ago proved not everything goes as planned...

The truly interesting part of this video is the commentary. I can understand how/why viewers think this 416 Rigby gun test is fake. It looks it! But the confidence and vehemence with which some insist they know all about the green screen, lighting, fake sound, bad acting, etc. is remarkable. For the record, this was a straight up shoot with camera on tripod, natural background on a ranch. Lighting by sun. Embarrassing performance by yours truly. If I were going to fake a recoil fall, I'd like to think I could do a better job than this.

By the way, this was a borrowed rifle of considerable value. No way I was risking it to a fake pratfall. Thus my comment to the film crew about keeping the rifle up and taking the fall on my back. Close call. And learned several lessons, not the least of which is "pride goeth before the fall."
